Applications for magnet schools and programs in the Bibb County School District will be accepted from October 6 through November 15, 2010. Magnet schools and programs in the district are: Alexander II Math & Science Magnet School, Burdell-Hunt Communications Magnet School, Vineville Fine Arts Academy, Miller Magnet Middle School, Central High School IB Programme, Central High School Fine Arts Magnet, Hutchings Career Center, Northeast Health Science Magnet, Southwest Law Academy, and Westside Pre-Engineering Magnet.

Beginning October 6, Elementary magnet applications may be picked up at any elementary school, and middle magnet applications may be picked up at any elementary school, at Miller Magnet Middle School, or on Miller Magnet Middle School’s website. High school applications may be picked up at the high schools or downloaded from the school’s website.

A separate application must be completed for each school and each child. Forms must be hand-delivered by an adult or sent by U.S. Mail to each school. Specific requirements apply for each magnet program; please see the application for those details. Transportation is not provided for those students who voluntarily choose to attend a school outside the zone assigned to their place of residence.
