Sample bibliography forms to cite a book, an encyclopedia and an Internet source. 

Bibliography Citation for an Encyclopedia Article

If you know the author, use his or her name.  Sample:
 
Poulson, Thomas. "Buffalo" World Book Encyclopedia, 2002 ed.

If you don't know the author's name, use the name of the article.   Sample:

"Buffalo." World Book Encyclopedia, 2002 ed.

Bibliography Citation for a Book

 

If you know the author, use his or her name first.  

Underline the name of the book. 

Look for the rest of the information on the title page or the back of the title page. 

 

Sample: 

Poulson, Thomas.  The Buffalo in American Life.

New York, Children's Press, 2003. 

 

 If you don't know the author's name, use the title of the book.

 

Sample:

 The Buffalo in American Life.  New York, Children’s Press, 2003. 

Bibliography Citation for an Internet Source

If you know the author, use his or her name.

Sample:
Bradshaw, Gary S. "Absolute Zero."  Oct. 10, 2005. http://www.wam.umd.edu/srwright/WRBR/html.

If you don't know the author's name, use the name of the group that sponsors the website or the name of the website.

Sample:
