Title I is a part of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB). This act provides federal funds through the Georgia Department of Education to local education agencies (LEAs) and public schools. The purpose of Title I is to ensure that all children have the opportunity to obtain a high quality education and reach proficiency on challenging state academic standards and assessments.

Title I programs in Bibb County :
Title I, Part A - School Wide and Targeted Assistance Programs to improve the Academic Achievement of the economically disadvantaged
Title I, Part A - Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) and School Improvement
Title I, Part A - Public School Choice
Title I, Part A - Supplemental Educational Services
Title I, Part A - Parental Involvement
Title I, Part C - Migrant Education Program provides supplemental educational services to eligible migrant children
Title I, Part D - Neglected and Delinquent provides educational services in local and state institutions for neglected or delinquent children and youth

Under Title I, local educational agencies (LEAs) are required to provide services for eligible private school students as well as eligible public school students.
